Cronkhites

Last week, our good friends Isaac and Joanna came down from Boston to visit. And I conveniently took this picture from the wrong end of the table so you can only see the back of Joanna's head and only half of Isaac's head.
Most importantly, they brought along their adorable baby boy Zac.
Rock was so excited about Baby Zac he went into blurry mode. More pictures of their visit to come!

Model

We recently sent this picture of Rock into the Kids section of the Grove City College's (Fix is an alumnus) Alumni magazine. The way it works is they give you a free t-shirt, but you have to send in a cute picture of your kid.
Rock's alter egos of "Spazz boy" (above) and "Zoned-out-with-strange-arms-and-bandaged-knees boy"(below) did not fit into the classic cute mold so they didn't make the cut.

He is Exhausted

Rock has a really fun mix CD (made by our friend Christel). He listens to it every morning and has 'learned' a lot of praise songs, including "He is Exalted." But as this video shows, perhaps he has his father's (lack of??) talent for lyrics.

Eda-Mommy

Rock has a new favorite snack.
The one problem is the name. It confuses him that there is a snack named after his (eda-)Mommy. At one point when we asked him, he said it was called "Rachel."

And he is very serious about opening the little pods on his own (as this video shows).

Sick

I had quite the cold this past week.
Thankfully, I had this adorable boy around to keep me company.
His father's not too hard on the eyes either.
I love these guys.

Congrats Cory and Melissa!

This past weekend, we went to the Bloomberg/Snyder wedding and it was lovely!Let me start by saying that if you are looking for some professional flower girls and a ringbearer, call the Saladas.
They did a PERFECT job. Here's their mom Nancy looking on proudly with wedding coordinator, Lynn.
A sneak peek at the father of the bride before he escorted his daughter down the aisle.
Now, I should note that this was my first day back with my old camera and it took us a little while to get reacquainted. Here's Melissa's blurry trip up the aisle...
And a blurry trip back down the aisle with her new husband!
Let's move on to the reception where my photography skills got a little better. Lynn's mother put together some beautiful flower arrangements.
The amazing part is that the majority of these flowers were generous donations from the bride's friends' gardens.
Lovely!
We got to the reception early which gave Rock plenty of time to put on his shades and sample the yummy fruit bar.
When Melissa and Cory arrived, we all sat down to a scrumptious feast from Smokey Bones.
Needless to say, Rock was delighted that Mary was at our table.
The Saladas again.
Can you tell that Rock wants to be a part of their family?
The suspenders were cracking me up!
Crowd shot.
Cutting the cake. By the way, aren't the ivory suits on the guys pretty handsome?
Speaking of handsome, check out the emcee. He was SUPER CUTE -even with his just-back-from-vacation-beard!
It's a Western Pennsylvania (where the groom is from) tradition to have a cookie table at your wedding instead of one large cake for everyone to eat. The wedding cake cookies above were made by Missy and they were DIVINE. I only ate one, but I wanted to eat six.
Bouquet toss -- Amy caught it.
Prepping for the bubble-blowing farewell.
The crowd.
L.o.v.e. these shirts!
Tricia waving goodbye to her daughter. Thanks again Bloombergs for including us on your "big day!"

Five Dollar Fun

Last Monday we found a great deal! A $5 pool! Although it is only 40" wide, it's already provided hours of fun.

NI-KON'S BACK -- ALRIGHT!

We are all smiles around here. "Why's that?" you say...
Because my camera is finally back from getting repaired! You will no longer have to look at bad pictures... well, maybe a few, but hopefully the good ones will be much more plentiful. YAY!
***Extra credit goes to the first person to identify which boy band song I am parodying (sp?) in the title of this post!

Summer Fellowship Gathering: Addy

My final post about the beach focuses on one of the main reasons I went -- to see my niece Addy!
She and Fix were so excited to see each other, they couldn't keep their eyes open.
And what makes Addy so cool? Well, she can hang with the older kids.
She is portable.
And she is sweet!
She is also quite fast. Which made taking a picture of she and Rock in their matching shorts (courtesy of Juju) rather difficult.
This was the one and only picture I got of the two of them sitting still (caught in the crossfires of two cameras!!) and it's awful. Good thing she's coming to visit soon -- that way we won't miss her too much and we'll get another chance at the matching shorts shot!

Summer Fellowship Gathering: Beach

Even though the weather wasn't fabulous, we did get a few days on the beach.
And that was something both Rock and his mom could smile about!
Even with the cloud cover, the humidity made it rather sticky.
I heart chubby baby feet in the sand.
Kelly, Fix, and Nate = Some studly beachy men!
Grandparents and grandkids.
Rock and Rock really rock!
Does Aunt Bethany look like Aunt Zuni...
Or Aunt Zuni look like Aunt Bethany?
Just in case you can't tell, they made Nick into a merman. Good work Sophie, Copeland, Clip, Aiden and Jay!
