John David and Molly's Wedding Ceremony

How gorgeous was this setting for Molly and John David's wedding?!

Congrats to Mr. and Mrs. John David Drake!
The bride's sister and my cousin Tyler.
My cousin Lindsey and her husband Sean.
Uncle Bob and Aunt Valeta.

Awful Awful

Apparently (or at least according to one local we met), while in Newport, RI, you MUST stop for ice cream at Newport Creamery. So we did.
And apparently you have to try the Awful Awful. It's a milkshake. Or I guess I should say "It's a drink."
I was the only one in our group brave enough to try it.
And it was awful.
Just kidding!
The first Awful stands for "awful big" and the second Awful stands for "awful good." I concur.

The Breakers

Before the wedding on Friday, we decided to go on a tour of The Breakers, Cornelius Vanderbilt's Summer home, I mean mansion.

But first we took a long drive......and took in some of Newport's beautiful seaside.
Finally we arrived at The Breakers.
Here's a picture of all the cousins before we went in. From left to right: Wesley, Nell, Grandma Cokie, Uncle John (my dad's younger bro), Kate, Grandpa Rocket, Dinah, Aunt Susanna, Rock, and me. I told everyone to 'look like a Vanderbilt' for this shot.
After a tour of the inside rooms (Rock and I are on the upstairs balcony)...
We took a walk around the grounds.Rock practiced his walking skills with his Grandparents.
Then did some solo crawling on the mansion's many steps.
Which gave me a chance to model how cool a Bjorn can look sans infant. FYI, it's a great place to stuff a diaper bag.

Rehearsal Dinner

So, don't rub it in if you are one of those people who can actually take good pictures. Or if you are one of those people who can edit bad pictures and make them look better.

Here is the proof that I have neither of the skills mentioned above. But here's an awful picture I took of John David (my cousin) and Molly (his new bride) at their rehearsal dinner in August.

This shot of one of the Brockman family tables isn't much better.

During dinner, Rock spent his time perfecting his punk face...

And making a mess on the floor.

Watch Me!

Papa John's watch makes Rock look good.

And yes, it has an alarm. Which is even more exciting.

Bye bye Papa John! I'll keep the watch thankyouverymuch.

Shake it!

The boy loves to shake things. So we got him some maracas as an early birthday gift. It also helped keep him quiet while we were shopping for dad's birthday gift.

First Black Eye

Before we left on our trip to Newport, RI (for my cousin's wedding -- see future posts), Rock fell over and got his first black eye. Poor boy! But, seeing as he is a very active boy, I assume this will not be his last injury.
