Walker

Recently, I babysat for my mom's Community Bible Study group. While we were there, Rock found a walker. And he walked around and around and around the little room we were in.
I love the determination on his face. He's very capable on his feet. If only we could convince him to let go (of the walker or our hands when we are walking him around), he'd be a man on the move!

11 Months Old, 9 Month Appointment

Due to a few scheduling conflicts (we planned a vacation over the week of his original appointment date, then the doctor cancelled our rescheduled date), Rock had his 9 month doctor's appointment when he was already over 11 months old!
This kind of delay kills us because we SO look forward to finding out just how chunky the little boy is. Above, Rock ponders what his stats will be.
Dad helped Rock write his name while we waited...
Turns out the boy is now ONLY in the 75th percentile! He's 24 lbs., 1 oz. and 30 inches long!
His head, on the other hand, continues to be "off the charts." We chuckled when the doctor said that was because of his big brain. But then he set us straight -- at this age, a big head really does mean a big brain. No wonder we think he is a GENIUS!!!

Birth Order

Fix and I are both the third of four siblings. We treasure having been born into the best spot in the birth order line-up. At brunch we asked John and Wesley (also third-of-fours) to pose for a picture to celebrate our superior status.
Then I thought it would be a good idea to make up a sign for our birth order. It is supposed to read "THIRD (three fingers) OF ("O" shape of the mouth) FOUR (four fingers)."But I was the only one who realized that you needed to flip your fingers so it would be able to be 'read' by the viewer. Sigh. Perhaps we are not as superior as I thought.
Of course, then everyone else had to get in on the birth-order fun. Here are the first-borns; Kate, Uncle Dan, Rock and Mommarama.
Nell and Rocket were the only second-of-fours in attendance.
Dinah, Susanna, and Valeta make a cute 4-of-4 team. They are also known as the "Babies."

Brunch!

Wake up Rock!
It's time for another family picture! The final event of the wedding weekend was a brunch for the out-of-town family and friends of the bride and groom.

Rock playing with Mariah and Tabitha (my cousin Lindsey's little girls).Beautiful flowers on our brunch tables.
In the center of the shot above are the cutest boys I know -- walking on the Newport beach.
Valeta, John and Rocket discuss Thoreau...
While Dan and Linda look on. The happy Brockman siblings.

Who Got the Spice?

If you can read the fine print, you'll see that we (all the cousins of the groom) sat at the table named for THE SPICED PEAR. That's the restaurant where John David and Molly celebrated their engagement. I think it was the best table there. Why you say? Because we had fun!
We ate flowers...
And most importantly, we wrote a rap about The Spiced Pear. Which we performed (above) for the wedding video. It was a hit.

Post Wedding/Pre Reception Shots

The thriftiest couple at the wedding. My dress was an $8 Ross find and Fix forgot his suit at home so we ran out to Target and picked up this one moments before the ceremony began. Which left me no time to shower. Ewwwww!
Susanna and I had a lot to discuss.

John David and Molly's Wedding Ceremony

How gorgeous was this setting for Molly and John David's wedding?!

Congrats to Mr. and Mrs. John David Drake!
