Becky's Car

Three weeks ago, Fix had plans for lunch that didn't include us, so Becky gave me and Rock a ride home from church. Rock has been talking about Becky's car ever since then... And begging me to "Drive Becky car?" This Sunday we finally gave in.
After buckling his seatbelt (which he insisted on doing although I've never talked about the importance of seatbelts with him before) and turning on the "Mu-ness" (his word for music)...
He was ready to roll! Of course he didn't roll. He just sat in the car 'steering' and smiling away while we all smiled back.

"And they called it Becky lo-ove...."

Becky's mom snapped these at church a few weeks ago. They show Rock's new talent for fake smiling for pictures...
And his undying devotion to Becky.

Anything Else You Need?

Last night, Rock had a tough time falling asleep. This is not unusual for him, but after half an hour of his crying "Mommy! I need you!" I finally broke down and went back into his room to see if there was anything he really needed. The following interaction occurred:

Rock:"I sleep Mommy Daddy's bed?"
Me: "No, you can't sleep in Mommy and Daddy's bed. You sleep in your crib and Mommy and Daddy sleep in our bed."
Rock: "Mommy Daddy's bed?"
Me: "No Rock, you have to sleep in your room. Is there anything else you need?"
Rock: "Money."

Rock Reunion

The best part about coming home? This precious little boy was waiting to greet us. He had a fabulous time at Rocket, Juju and Zuni's house. Many thanks to the three of you for watching him while we were away!

Dan and Sam: Wedding and Reception

Here's a little picture I snapped of the bride before she went down the aisle. JUST KIDDING! This is from the photographer, Jeff Roffman's website. Isn't it amazing? So was Sam's dress -- made from Irish linen and Venetian lace. GORGEOUS!
The groom takes in his beautiful bride as the cute Reverend looks on.
The wedding went without a hitch and Fix's charge to the couple was poignant, personal and perfect! He is a pro!
After the ceremony, the Mothership men got a picture with the newest Mothership wife. Again, her dress was so beautifully awesome.
At the reception, I did my best to take some horrific pictures with my point-and-shoot camera (still waiting on the Nikon's repair). The first was of the bride and groom's first dance to Sting's version of "My One and Only Love."
Someone was very excited about eating cake -- and rightly so because it was delicious! In fact, all of the food was delicious and I ate far too much of it.
Then Sam and her father danced to "You're Never Fully Dressed Without a Smile." It was adorable!Dan and his mom danced to "Georgia On My Mind."
Here's another Jeff Roffman picture. Seriously, isn't he good? Go here for more of his fantastic pictures of Dan and Sam's big day.
Although it's nothing special, I'm pretty proud of this shot because I took it at the same time that I threw my rose petals. Congrats Dan and Samantha! We are so so happy for you both and hope you are enjoying a relaxing honeymoon!

Dan and Sam: Rehearsal

So, last weekend we headed down to sunny Atlanta for the wedding of Fix's good friend Dan, to the beautiful and famous CNN reporter, Samantha Hayes.
These are just a few shots from the Rehearsal... I know you can only see the back of his head, but let me tell you, the Reverend who officiated the ceremony was CUTE!

Amelia and Lura

On Wednesday morning we left Will and Christel's apartment and headed into Manhattan to see my friend Amelia.
We lived in the same house for our last two years of college and she just had an adorable baby girl, Lura, who we just had to meet!
Although Rock still wasn't feeling that great, he managed to take a picture of their beautiful apartment.
If you are looking for a good spot for brunch, I highly recommend their apartment. Amelia's food was fantastic and the view from their 56th(?) floor apartment was breathtaking!
While walking back to our car, we stopped at a signal and I noticed the most amazing thing... Looking one direction, I saw a restaurant called ZUNI (this is my sister Susanna's nickname).
Looking the other direction, there was a restaurant called RACHEL'S. Okay so I thought it was cool. In retrospect, I'm just a nerd. Oh well, this part of the post is for you Zuni.
