Yucky Dinner

Sometimes I make really yummy dinners. And yet, some people don't want to eat them. So sometimes we pretend that dinner is YUCKY! That makes it a lot of fun to eat...

An Apology

So, in case you hadn't noticed, I haven't updated this blog (or my design blog) in quite some time. Well, a lot of it has to do with this girl. Am I saying that Louisa has made my life hard? No. Harder? Perhaps yes.

It's not like I had things together before she came along, but having two kids has definitely been much rougher on me than having one. A lot of it has to do with their ages. And a lot of it has to do with Louisa's tummy issues. She's always cried a lot and had bouts of intense pain and (sorry if this is TMI) weird bowel movements.

We finally got her in to see a specialist at Children's Hospital on November 9th and the good news is that there is nothing wrong with her internally. The bad news is that she's irritated by dairy in my breastmilk and she's having a hard time eating solids without (again probably TMI) getting constipated. We'd already figured out the dairy thing on our own so I've avoiding all things dairy until she's weaned and we are taking it really slow with the solid foods.

As long as we do that and keep her on a mild laxative, she's happy as a clam. That has made life a lot easier on her end. Of course right as we got her figured out, Rock's been having issues with sleeping and regressing on potty training. Wahoo.

So all that's to say, I'm sorry that I haven't kept up this blogging aspect of my life better, but something had to give. And now I will attempt to catch up before the new year or at least earlier on in the new year. Thanks for your understanding!

Fall Festival

A word to the wise: If you wake up your son from a late nap to participate in Wallace's Fall Festival, he will be a bit zoned out during the games...

And during dinner...

And he will repeatedly ask you why it's so cold. So you may have to end your night early and go home. Oh well, it was fun while it lasted!

The Best Way to Spend 75 Cents

Rock, Adeline, and Camille all love the Carousel at the mall. And their mothers are big enough suckers to fork over the 75 cents to make their little hearts burst with joy! Appreciate that I named this video "Rock and Rohal* on the Carousel!"
*If you didn't know, Rohal is pronounced "Roll."

Trunk or Treat

We had plans (Reformation Day Service) on Halloween night, so the day before Halloween, I laid out the kids costumes while they were napping. Then, that night we went to Wallace's Trunk or Treat Event.Rock was a Fire Chief. I thought it was an excellent costume in that we didn't have to buy ANY of it! You may remember that the firefighter outfit was from Ron and Sarah. His fire boots are his rain galoshes from Juju.

Louisa was "the cutest black cat you've ever seen." At least that's what Juju said. Juju bought the cat ears and again, we didn't have to buy anything else for Louisa's costume -- just decked her out in her cutest black turtleneck, black skirt, black tights and black patent leather shoes.

And what did Fix and I dress up as? Well, here's a clue...

While you think about what I might be, take a look at this blurry picture of Rock, Molly C. and the Saladas. See why they called it Trunk or Treat? Instead of going from house to house, the kids went from car to car to collect candy!

The day before Trunk or Treat, Adeline (not pictured) told me that her father was going to be a tree. This was news to him, but he managed to throw together this FANTASTIC tree costume overnight. Well done Patrick! And Camille, you make a pretty cute cow!

Here's a picture of our whole family before we dropped the kids at Rocket and Juju's house and went to a grown-ups only costume party. Again, any guesses as to who Fix and I are?

The costume party was held by Paul and Julia Childs. Also known as Dan and Samantha Fisher.

There was almost a full flight of the Mothership at this event. It was fun to catch up with the 'Shippers from out of town, but we missed you Robert.

Isaac was Bunny Madoff. Will was a tourist. And we were...

BRANGELINA! You can only see 5 babies in the picture above, but trust me, Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, Knox and Vivienne are all there! We got 2nd place in the "Best Costume" contest.

Jack Sparrow got first place. But considering he really looked like Jack Sparrow and his costume probably cost more than the $4 I plopped down for lip liner and false eyelash glue, we feel that he deserved the win. Thanks again to Dan and Sam for hosting a great evening!
