Fish-n-Chips

Does anyone else love Eamonn's in Alexandria as much as I do? I can't thank Uncle Jason enough for introducing me to this amazing fish-n-chips restaurant.
I talked my family into going there before they headed over to Mt. Vernon. Unfortunately, Rock and I couldn't come along for the M.V. trip as we had an even more important plan called "nap time."
And right before we began our meal, we realized that Rock's diaper was leaking all over his shorts. So he spent the meal in just his shirt and his diaper.
And even though his Aunt Sarah called him a "ghetto baby," Rock wasn't afraid to strut his stuff on the walk back to the car.
Work it.

Crab Bomb!

When Sarah got into town last Thursday, we all went out for CRAB BOMBS at Jerry's Seafood.
They were so delicious that they were in our bellies before I could get my camera out.
This was just the beginning of our fun-filled (and seafood-filled) family weekend in DC.

Juju's Pool

Someone has really enjoyed going to "Juju's Pool" this summer.
And we've enjoyed taking him there on Fix's day off.
Of course it would be nice if he spent a little less time playing with the parking garage on the deck and a little more time in the water but that's just me being picky....

Typing

Keyboards are usually a "no touch" area for Rock.
But the other day I let him have a little time with the "um-puter..."
So he could send an email to Rocket and Juju.
Little did I know that touching these keys would bring such delight. Anyone else up for an email from Rock?

Driving

While I love to drive, it stresses Fix out. So I do most of the driving for our family.
And Rock takes care of the in-car sleeping.

IKEA

A couple weeks ago, we went to the grand re-opening of IKEA's Marketplace area. Apparently they had been remodeling it.
Rock, Aunt Zuni (not pictured at all in this post - sorry Zuni!) and I got up way too early for a Saturday morning and stood in line in the hot sun to be among the first people inside. And why would we do such a thing?
To get a $25 gift card of course!!!! I had been looking at a new coffee table that was only $20 so this made it FREE! We also got a new roll of white paper for Rock to color.
While there, Rock found this "fridge-a-tur" (aka cabinet).
We put Zuni's iced coffee in it to stay cool. Hilarious.
Towards the end of our trip, we tried out the big-boy beds. After spending some time talking him into trying the first one, he wanted to try them all.
And he insisted on taking off his shoes and getting under the covers for the full experience. I think we might be ready to make the crib-to-bed transition really soon!

Chick-a-Lay

So I like Chick-Fil-A. And so does Rock, except he calls it 'Chick-a-Lay.' But I'm beginning to worry that perhaps I've taken him there a few too many times in his young life.
The other day we were looking at his flashcards and when I showed him the one pictured above and said "What do cows eat?" he responded "CHICK-A-LAY!"
Then, later that evening while playing cars and trucks with Daddy, Fix grabbed the lid of our cooler to be a 'building' for the cars to drive to. Rock excitedly exclaimed "Cars go to Chick-a-Lay!" Perhaps I should try a different venue next time we're at the food court.
