Gluten-Free

Rock's Nana eats a Gluten-free diet.
Which means she has to make some things from scratch. But Rock is VERY into helping in the kitchen and he really enjoyed helping her make...
Gluten-free dairy-free sugar cookies!
They were actually pretty good but next time I think we should add some gluten-free icing!

Monday Night with Zuni

On one of the last night's that Zuni was in town, we gathered with the Hathaways, Rabenhorsts, and Brockmans for a Monday Night Dinner.
After we ate, Sophie wanted to play with our American Girl dolls.
Of course we were happy to oblige and my mom brought out my Kirsten and Zuni's Molly from storage. And of course, all their accessories!
As always, it was a crazy night, but as the evening wound down, things got even crazier.
Appreciate that they both have their underwear on backwards.
Rock and Zuni made Louisa laugh...
And smile. Louisa loved meeting Zuni and we all enjoyed having her home for a few weeks. It's always hard to see her go back to London!

Check-Ups

At his three year well-visit Rock was 40" tall and 37 lbs. and very healthy! He was a real tough guy -- not a tear or even an 'ouch' when they took a bunch of his blood and gave him a shot.
At her 6 month well check-up Louisa was 18 lbs. 4 oz. Not quite up to Rock's record of 21 lbs. 11 oz., but we'll take it! She was 26" long. She's in the 75th-90th percentile and very much living up to Rock's nickname for her "Chubby Cheeks."

Twins?

Every week at Story Hour, someone asks if Rock and Adeline are twins. While their mostly-kind-but-occasionally-volatile-relationship is much like I imagine a twins relationship would be, these two are definitely from different families!

Push-ups

Even after careful instruction...
Don't let this picture fool you. Rock cannot do a push-up.

Sunday Finest

Yep, this is the best picture I got of the two cuties in their Sunday Finest.
Most of the group shots looked something like this.
Someone was looking lovely. Someone else was being a goofball.
When she's happy, she's VERY happy!
This face just kills me.

25th Churchiversary!

Our church is 25 years old! The first weekend of October, we all gathered to celebrate!
To kick off the weekend, on Friday night, we had another installment of our running dc2 (that's dessert, coffee, and conversation) series. This time, Dave Coffin spoke.
The dessert options all looked delicious...
But Rock was there to see Becky! And yes, Rock and Louisa were THE ONLY CHILDREN at this event. As we were pulling up to the church, it dawned on us that perhaps this was an adults only event. Oh well. Too late to get a babysitter at that point!
The next morning, Rock found Becky again...
This time in the Moon Bounce.
Louisa wisely stayed outside!
After holding Lou, Tom joined the Bocce ball fun.
There was also volleyball for those who were into sweating (not me!).
While Louisa seemed rather perplexed that she was being held by her grandfather Rocket (of all people!)...
Rock was LOVING the chance to see Clip again...
And I was loving watching them interact! Funny boys.
Then everyone lined up...
And even more people watched...
As the kids all tried to knock Paul Evans into the water!
After Bill (one of the founding members of the church) tried to torture her with a praying mantis...
I got a picture with the famous Beck Merson! We've been friends since 4th grade (or earlier?) and she ROCKS! I was so excited to meet her son Grant that I forgot to take his picture. You'll have to trust me when I say that he is rad.Saturday night we gathered again to share a meal and reflect on God's goodness to our congregation over the past 25 years.
Someone wanted a little less talking and a little more eating.
So I let him take some pictures. See Stefon in the background? We were glad he joined us for the evening!
I love the term Churchiversary! Whatta fun weekend!
Fun and exhausting.
