Front Yard

Although we love our townhouse, we've never really loved or even understood the 'landscaping' that was done by the previous owners in our front yard.

While the other townhouses on our block have nice grass and flower beds, we had a front yard full of mulch, visible cable wires, and a few random plantings.

Then one day, this really cute gardener wandered onto our property.
He worked and slaved...
And slaved and worked. He even enlisted his wife to do a teeny tiny bit of the work, but she wasn't much help.
Finally we had a new front yard!

The hunky gardener installed an awesome stone wall.

He filled the flower beds with azaleas, hostas, purple knight, impatiens, vincas, salvia, mums, cuphea, persian shield, dianthus, and a few bushes that were already in our yard. I'm working on identifying them so that I can continue to expand my extremely limited knowledge of plants.
Oh and he put in some grass that's struggling to grow in the 99 degree weather we've been having. Thank you mysterious gardener for all your hard work. I love you!

Well... I would have gotten rid of all of the grass. But the stone wall looks wonderful, and the plant arrangement is far beyond my knowledge base... well done strange gardner!

I hope Fix doesn't find out about the gardner! Just kidding.

The yard looks great! It's amazing what a difference some rocks and plants can make. Good job.

This is awesome! What a great gardener you have! :) Yeah I'm the biggest slacker myself when it comes to gardening but maybe these pics will inspire me to plant a few things (maybe)!

Wow, I am seriously impressed! It looks great. I echo the question of how long it took. From the pictures it almost makes it look like it was all done in a day. He got my share of Mama's green thumb genes, 'cause I have none!

It took several parts of several days to do this. The wall alone was a little time consuming -- just to get the right stone for the right place. And we had to remove a large stump that was too close to the house for a stump removal guy to do it. But the actual planting didn't take much time at all...
