May Vacay: Day Two

Louisa decided not to sleep much on our first night so instead of going to the beach, the ladies stayed at home to nap. Rock took this opportunity to borrow my sunglasses and hit the beach with Dad.
Rock was extra pumped to don his new Lightning McQueen bathing suit and rash guard (bought by Juju).
Back at home, Fix took a turn with Louisa. I can't believe she's already big enough to ride on his shoulders. Well, she's not really big enough to ride on his shoulders. But I can't believe that she's big enough to not be big enough to ride on his shoulders.
After dinner, we took a long walk where Rock pointed out that our shadows were super tall! On the way back to our beach house we found a playground...
Where Rock kicked his father in the head while swinging. Just kidding - this was just a game they were playing.
After Rock conquered the Rock wall...
We ended the day with some world-class entertainment Muppets In Space.

May Vacay: Day One

Thanks to the generosity of some family friends, we spent the last week in May in Bethany Beach, DE. It was our first vacation as just the four of us.
Most of day one was spent finishing up our packing (I just couldn't quite get it done without Fix's help and I didn't get his help until the first day of vacay) and in the car. Rock is working his way towards reading so we took along the McGuffey's Eclectic Primer. My dad used it to teach me to read and now we borrowed his copy to practice with Rock.
Thankfully, the first day at the beach was overcast and foggy so we didn't miss much. For the record, Louisa is in the back of the stroller, not taking this picture.

Carousel

After eating a pretzel dog for lunch, Rock rode the Columbia Mall carousel with Juju. Doesn't get much better than that!

You can tell that he's a little nervous in this video because he doesn't really want to look out or take his hands off the horse.

Trying for a Picture...

On Caleb's last night in town, the boys were looking pretty cute in their pajamas. So we tried to get a cute picture of them.
But they were tired...
And crazy...
And it was just too much fun to not take pictures.
It's much more fun to run around and hide behind Nana's furniture.
Despite their attempts, I got a cute one.

Zoo

With two wild animals boy cousins in town, we had to go to the zoo!
Thankfully Aunt Susi (and Nana and Elizabeth who are not pictured) came along to help.
Rock and Caleb got wheeled around in style...
While Louisa sat in the front of the double stroller. At 8 weeks, she wasn't quite old enough to meet the '6 months' requirement to sit up there, but I tightened up the straps and she survived. Don't tell.
We saw elephants (can you see them in the picture above?), tigers, lions, alligators, pandas,
And even an oryx.
And while we're on the theme of animals, doesn't Caleb remind you of Chicken Little from the Disney movie?
Too cute.

2-Months Old

As you may have noticed, Louisa's really been filling out. I just love her double chin and her sweet rolls on her legs!
At her 2 month appointment, she weighed 12 lbs 2 oz. And she was 23.5 inches long. That mens she grew 1.5 inches longer since her last appointment!
Rock loves the doctor's office because it's the only time he gets to watch movies. He doesn't blink when there are cartoons on in the room.

Belated Mother's Day

While Elizabeth and Caleb were still in town, we went out to celebrate a belated Mother's Day.
But we were not celebrating this weirdo.
We were there for Nana Kerry. To celebrate her and all her wonderfulness, we went out for dinner at the Cheesecake Factory.
Don't let their smiles fool you. These three were up to no good.
