Which means he smothers her all the time. Any advice on what to do about his over-the-top affections? I don't want to stifle his love, but it often upsets her.

The first one would make a good home page picture for the blog. Louisa looks much less terrified even if her brother is trying to smother her. Thanks for the new posts of my two favorite grandchildren in Maryland.
Ryann has done the same thing. We've emphasized that he is delicate, and we yell CAREFUL a lot, but she still does it. Now that Jack is over a year, he just hollers when he doesn't want her affections. The girl can't keep her hands off him. To some degree though, he does like it.
